Updates On Lesedi Kapinga’s Future With Sundowns

Lesedi Kapinga’s agent has provided an update on the player’s future, following reports of interest from Marumo Gallants.

The 26-year-old has struggled for game time with the Tshwane giants this season, making only four appearances in the PSL, one of which was a start.

Marumo Gallants, a club from his native region of Limpopo, is apparently keeping an eye on his status at Sundowns, where he is up against heavy competition for a starting spot.

Moses Mudau, Kapinga’s agent, has stated that his client is content with the Chlookop-based giants and that he will stay put during the current mid-season transfer window.

“We’ve seen and heard that Kapinga is going to be loaned,” says the source. Mudau

“However, the truth is that Kapinga is on the coaching staff’s radar. His goal is to keep working hard while waiting for his opportunity.

“He played in Sundowns’ final league game before the Christmas break, and he did well, scoring a goal to help Sundowns get a point against Marumo Gallants.”

For a spot in Masandawana’s starting lineup, Kapinga is up against Themba Zwane, Thapelo Morena, Thabiso Kutumela, Neo Maema, and Gaston Sirino.

When the current season resumes, Mudau feels the former Black Leopards player will have his chance to play for Sundowns, with the squad set to compete in the Nedbank Cup, Caf Champions League, and PSL.

“Kapinga joined Sundowns because he adores the squad and understands the challenges that lie ahead,” Mudau explained.

“At Sundowns, he’s learned a lot, and we’re pleased with his progress.” We are certain that he will get a chance to play because Sundowns still have a lot of games left this season, including the Caf Champions League, Premiership, and Nedbank Cup.”
