Two soccer players killed, Ten injured by Lightning in Mpumalanga

On Saturday afternoon in Sheepmoor, Mpumalanga, two soccer players have been struck and killed by a vicious lighting on a soccer field while ten others were left scattered and injured.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene and they arrived at 6pm to find two young men lying under a tree while ten others were still scattered on the field.

The medics quickly assessed the situation and discovered that two young men underneath a tree, both believed to be 18 years old, showed no signs of life.

The other scattered players were examined and found to have sustained injuries varying for minor to serious.

The soccer players were then treated quickly on scene and eventually transported to Ermelo Provincial Hospital for further urgent treatment by doctors.
