Two Kaizer Chiefs Legends set to leave Naturena
Kaizer Chiefs: End of an an era for TWO Amakhosi legends set to leave Naturena
All good things must come to an end and in Kaizer Chiefs’ case we may have seen the last of these two Amakhosi legends at Naturena.
Chiefs fans are getting ready to bid farewell to several stars, including two Amakhosi legends.
Several players are heading out of Naturena between now and the end of July. Most noticeably, two of the club’s all-time greats.
Bernard Parker and Eric Mathoho have served the club for the better part of the last decade.
Both men have tasted the extreme highs and lows that have come with playing for Amakhosi. However, it seems that there time in Soweto may be up.
Head coach Arthur Zwane has finally issued a key update on Parker’s future with a shock suggestion
Mike Makaab confirmed that Parker is likely to hang up his boots.
Our captain ended on a strong note, scoring a goal in what could be his final game for Chiefs . A fitting end for Parker who has scored so many crucial goals for Amakhosi down the years.
Mathoho may not be retiring just yet but it seems his days at Chiefs are numbered.
Since Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard took over on an interim basis, Mathoho has found it difficult to get into the starting line up. However, He battled fitness concerns but his form has dropped substantially in recent seasons.
The towering Amakhosi defender is a club legend, standing head and shoulders above the rest (literally too). Unfortunately, in the past couple of seasons he has made some costly mistakes and hasn’t quite offered the same safety at the back.
Regardless, if he does decide to leave, he will leave an Amakhosi legend.
