Transfer News | Revealed which teams Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo prefers to Join.
Marumo Gallants midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo has been the subject of strong transfer speculation in recent months.
Ndlondlo has been linked with all of Kaizer Chiefs , Orlando Pirates , Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu , who have reportedly made strides on hm.
Both Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns were thought to be going head to head in an effort to prize Ndlondlo away from Gallants during the previous window. This interest came after the player played a sterling role in the club’s run to win the Nedbank Cup while still under their previous banner of TTM. The name may have changed, but not Ndlondlo’s form, as he has continued to grow in leaps and bounds since.
It is then unclear when Chiefs joined the interest train for Ndlondlo, as they were previously linked extensively with midfield duo Sipho Mbule and Teboho Mokoena during the previous transfer window. However, the latest reports do credit the Glamour Boy’s for with having an interest in the player. Amakhosi have subsequently lost out to Sundowns for the services of Mokoena and Mbule to the Brazilians too, but have already added Yusuf Maart and Siyethemba Sithebe to their midfield to offset the loss according to the latest.
Elsewhere, there seems to have been very little mention of Ndlondlo from either of Sundowns, who have signed Mbule in midfield, and Pirates on potentially adding the diminutive midfielder to their roster. This has come as a bit of a surprise considering how in demand the player seemed to be as recently as the January transfer window. It now seems to be just a one horse race for the player’s signature, with widespread reports stating that AmaZulu are closing in on the player.
In the midst of all of that transfer speculation, however, a source very close to Ndlondlo has revealed what the player’s situation is at the moment.
“Look, I speak to Ndaba (Ndondlo) about these type of things all the time, we are close like that. I told myself I would until after the Nedbank Cup final before revisiting this conversation with him again. Both he and his agent have been waiting for a concrete offer from either Chiefs or Pirates, but it is yet to come. There have been preliminary talks with both teams but nothing strong enough has come from those talks as of yet” the source told The South African News.
Speaking on the recent reports of Ndlondlo edging closer to a move to AmaZulu the source said:
“They are pushing hard for Ndaba, I know that for sure. They are pushing really, really hard to sign him but he and his agent are still holding out for something from either Chiefs or Pirates. Ndaba really wants to play for a big club now. If you ask for my opinion? I don’t think he will join Chiefs, they don’t usually spend money but they have already spent a lot in this window. So I would say, it could be Pirates or Sundowns but at the moment it looks like AmaZulu because he can’t wait forever” concluded the source.
A second source confirmed to this publication that given a choice, Ndlondlo would choose to play for Pirates.
“I have interacted with Ndlondlo on my own platform before, a very cool guy. He was not shy to tell me that he is Pirates supporter and grew up idolising the midfield partnership of Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa. I know he would love to play for Pirates one day ”. Concluded the source.
Will Ndlondlo get his preference of playing for either a Pirates, Chiefs or Sundowns? Or will reality sink in and see the player settle for the reported AmaZulu deal already on the table?
