Soweto Derby | Kaizer Chiefs’s possible starting Berth.

Another player who will miss the match is Cole Alexander who is suspended having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during Amakhosi’s 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United on May 14.

Furthermore, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Kgaogelo Sekgota and Sabelo Radebe are doubtful due to illness.

Check out the predicted Chiefs’ starting line-up ahead of their clash with their Soweto rivals at FNB Stadium.

GOALKEEPER – Bruce Bvuma

The Bafana Bafana international kept his fourth clean sheet of the season against Sekhukhune in what was his seventh league match.

Bvuma will be hoping to end the season on a high by keeping another clean sheet in this Soweto Derby encounter.

RIGHT-BACK – Njabulo Blom

The tough-tackling player will be bracing himself for a tough battle with Swallows’ explosive left-winger Monnapule Saleng.

Blom will have to neutralise Saleng first before he starts making his forward runs in the right flank.

LEFT-BACK – Reeve Frosler

The current season has seen the 24-year-old re-establish himself as a regular in the starting line-up.

Frosler is set to make his 22nd appearance of the season in the league when he steps onto the pitch against Amaswaiswai.

CENTRAL DEFENDER – Ramahlwe Mphahlele

The former Mamelodi Sundowns captain is one of the reasons why Chiefs’ form has improved in the last few weeks.

Mphahlele produced a Man of the Match performance against Sekhukhune and he also provided an assist in the first round league clash against Swallows last November.

CENTRAL DEFENDER – Njabulo Ngcobo

With Ngezana having picked up an injury, the reigning PSL Defender of the Season has been tipped to return to the starting line-up.

Ngcobo was dropped from the starting line-up after making a costly mistake again Lamontville Golden Arrows on April 27 and he will be keen to produce an improved performance.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDER – Phathutshedzo Nange

The box-to-box midfielder, who missed the game against Sekhukhune due to suspension, will walk straight into the starting line-up as he is Chiefs’ first-choice midfielder.

Nange scored in his last match for the Glamour Boys as they drew with Sundowns on May 8.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDER – Kearyn Baccus

The 30-year-old midfielder could be recalled to the starting line-up with Alexander unavailable, while Sabelo Radebe and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are doubtful.

Chiefs secured a 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants in Baccus’ last start for the Soweto giants on May 5.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDER – Bernard Parker

The versatile player brought some creative spark to the Chiefs midfield when he returned to the starting line-up against Sekhukhune.

Parker, who provided an assist in the first round match against Amaswaisai, will be hoping to lead Amakhosi to a win in Soweto.

Chiefs have been hit by injuries this week with Siyabonga Ngezana, Leonardo Castro, Keagan Dolly and Samir Nurkovic having joined Sifiso Hlanti and Lebogang Manyama on the club’s injury list.

Another player who will miss the match is Cole Alexander who is suspended having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during Amakhosi’s 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United on May 14.

RIGHT FORWARD – Khama Billiat

The influential attacker will be looking to produce another eye-catching performance against Swallows.

Billiat scored twice and provided an assist as Chiefs claimed a 3-1 win over Amaswaiswai at FNB Stadium in the first round game.

LEFT FORWARD – Happy Mashiane

The Chiefs academy product might be handed a rare start with Dolly unavailable, while Sekgota is doubtful.

Mashiane came on as a substitute against Sekhukhune and it was his sixth league appearance this term.

CENTRE FORWARD – Lazarous Kambole

The former Zesco United striker has been handed a new lease of life by co-coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard.

Kambole is expected to start with Castro and Nurkovic unavailable due to their respective injuries.
