Sithebe’s Promise To Chiefs Supporters

Sithebe’s Message To Zungu And Promise To Chiefs Fans

Newly-signed Kaizer Chiefs attacker Siyethemba Sithebe has sent a message to his former boss Sandile Zungu at AmaZulu and also made a promise to the Amakhosi supporters.
Sithebe signed a pre-contract with Chiefs in January, leading to backlash from his AmaZulu bosses as they were furious with how they lost the midfielder.
Zungu claimed that Chiefs offered Sithebe a pre-contract in Decmeber, before the midfielder could enter the final six months of his deal with the KZN side.
As a result, Sithebe spent the last few months of his contract on the stands at Usuthu as Zungu made it clear that the 29-year-old will never wear the club jersey again.
In an interview with Soccer Laduma, Sithebe said he never got the opportunity to have a chat with Usuthu president Zungu on his last day at the club.
“As I was leaving the club to rush to a family ceremony, I only managed to speak to the coach (Brandon Truter), who gave me his blessings, as well as some of the guys. I didn’t get to speak to the chairman,” said Sithebe.
“From the office, the only person I managed to speak to was the team manager Qedi Dlamini, and I said to him isiyobuya ibonane (till we meet again).”
But, Sithebe has since decided to use the media space to send Zungu a message.
“Chairman, I do understand that football is a business, and things happen in this game, and, as players, we are guided in our decisions by contracts that we get offered, which I’m sure you understand,” added Sithebe in his message to Zungu.
“Having said this, I thank you wholeheartedly for the chance that you have given me to play for the club under your leadership since you took over (from the previous owners). We have been like a family, and I enjoyed the time I spent with the club under your leadership. I thank you.”
