Sithebe’s Agent Hit Back On Zungu’s Drama Over Sithebe’s Transfer
Siyethemba Sithebe’s representative and uncle Musa Sithebe was on SAFMSPORTON with Thabiso Mosia talking about the player’s proposed move from AmaZulu…
“I’m suprised by the drama surrounding Sithebe’s because when a player has six months left, he can speak to anyone he wants. AmaZulu did offer a contract in December and we declined it”
“The reason we declined is that we felt the offer was not good enough for a player of his calibre. Remember when he joined AmaZulu he was not known. But now he has won Cosafa with Bafana and has done much more”
“We also had to take into account the age of the player. He is 29 and is ageing football wise. So we had to look for a move for the player after AmaZulu couldn’t meet what we were asking. We were giving them first option”
“Pirates and other clubs made inquiries about his contract but there was no official contact. Chiefs then made their intentions to sign him in January and were willing to secure the player in a player exchange deal. But AmaZulu wanted a cash deal”
“The player would love a move to Chiefs and any of the Big 3. But it’s also a business decision at the end of the day. . He likes Chiefs ,not because he grew up supporting Chiefs”
“There was still a possibility of the deal happening today. I must say that Chiefs expressed serious interest in him and anything can still happen. But the clubs couldn’t reach a deal. AmaZulu were not happy with what was proposed by Chiefs, that’s how the deal ended”
“I’m still hopeful that Sithebe can still help AmaZulu. Maybe the owner was just emotional. I think they still need him and the Coach will play him. He can still help them in the group stages of CAF”
“Maybe the Chairman will also realise that it’s not true that communication came before the window opened. We know the official letter was sent in January. We never spoke to Chiefs, but only sent them a salary proposal after hearing that they were talking to AmaZulu”
“Sithebe understands football politics. He’s a strong boy and will get over this. He has been reporting for training everyday. And now he can also sign a pre contract with anyone, that hasn’t happened yet but it’s promising”
