Senegalese Referee Is The Same Referee Involved In A Match Fixing Scandal Before.

SAME REFEREE THAT ROBBED SOUTH AFRICA!

In 2019, Maguette Ndiaye, was involved in a match fixing scandal during return leg of CAF Confederation Cup semifinal match between RSB Berkane of Morocco versus CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.

CS Sfaxien won the 1st leg 2-0 at home in Tunisia. In the second round, RSB Berkene overturned the score at their home in Morocco by 3-0 score.

Immediately after the final whistle of the match, the referee and his assistants were attacked by the players and officials of CS Sfaxien, claiming the match was fixed.

Senegalese referee, Maguette Ndiaye, attacked by players and coaches in Morocco, 2019.

A video showing attack on match officials from that game went viral online until it reached CAF.

Few days later, CAF Disciplinary committee announced that it had sanctioned 3 of the players in the video with 4-match suspensions while 2 Assistant coaches got 6-match suspensions.

They also handed the club a $ 40,000 fine.

As a result, the Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye dodged sanctions for poor officiating which escalated to violent actions after the match.

Three years later, the same referee made headlines again soon after the crucial World Cup Qualifiers match between Ghana and South Africa.

Ghana won the match 1-0 after Maguette Ndiaye awarded them a dubious penalty on the 33rd minute which Andre Ayew gladly slotted into the net to put Ghana ahead and qualified for the next round of World Cup Qualifiers.
