Orlando Pirates youngster poised for big European move!

A rising Orlando Pirates star is set to jet out of the country before the end of the season if everything goes according to plan!

Rising Orlando Pirates star Mohau Nkota is reportedly wanted by Belgian giants Standard Liege.

The 19-year-old striker has been in scintillating form for Joseph Makhanya’s DStv Diski Challenge side this season.

Nkota’s brace this weekend saw the Buccaneers reserve side come from behind to defeat Royal AM 5-3 and remain top of the log standings.

His form is not going unnoticed with blockbuster move to Europe reportedly on the horison!

“It’s not a surprise that this particular club (Standard Liege) had made this offer. You know there have been other teams monitoring and inquiring about him but nothing went further,” an insider told SoccerLaduma.

“This time around this Belgian team’s interest is serious. They have proposed that if all goes well then they can have the player even before the end of the season.”

In other news, Rhulani Mokwena was left frustrated with referee Thando Ndzandzeka after his side’s 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership.

Things simply didn’t click for both teams at a packed Loftus Versfeld Stadium and Mokwena has since voiced his frustrations.

Take a look at what the impressive coach had to say regarding Thando Ndzandzeka’s performance below.

“I didn’t like the game today. It’s not a game of football,” Sundowns coach Mokwena told SuperSport TV as quoted by IdiskiTimes following the Orlando Pirates clash.

“First time that I don’t like my team. Not at all and of course a game of football you need three good teams and I don’t like my team today, I don’t think the referees were good today either.

“I never complain about referees but I don’t think they were good today. I think Orlando Pirates put up a fight.”

Mamelodi Sundowns will be facing La Masia on Tuesday evening in their Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash.

The last time the Brazilians lifted the Nedbank Cup trophy was in 2022. Last season’s champions were Orlando Pirates.
