Orlando Pirates REJECT R26m bid for Relebohile Mofokeng!
With the news of a deadline day rejection, the Orlando Pirates are receiving an increasing number of bids for top prospect Relebohile Mofokeng.
According to reports, the Orlando Pirates turned down a multi-million dollar bid for youthful Relebohile Mofokeng, one of their important players.
During the last transfer window, Mofokeng became a major nuisance for Pirates, drawing interest from several clubs.
Mofokeng was linked to a move to Barcelona “B” even before the window opened. Even though the connections excited a lot of people, they seemed a little over the top for obvious reasons. Later, it was discovered that the connection was a Barcelona coach inquiring about the Pirates star from former AmaZulu coach Pablo Martin.
Mofokeng linked with several clubs
Al Ahly was the third team to be associated with Mofokeng following those links. They reportedly thought he was a great talent who might support them in the FIFA Club World Cup. After that, pirates allegedly declared he was not for sale. According to additional accounts from Egypt, agents, not the Red Devils, were driving the move.
The final club to express interest came from North Africa as well. Wydad Casablanca allegedly had an alluring offer that the Pirates were considering. Ultimately, the rumors were just as implausible as they seemed. However, the most recent claim of increased interest from North Africa appears to be more specific.Soccer-Ladum claims that Zamalek’s bid of $25.8 million was turned down!
Pirates reject R25.8 million bid from Zamalek
“The Siya crew can confirm that on the Anal day of the Egyptian transfer market, 8 February, Zamalek submitted a formal offer to the Sea Robbers for Mofokeng’s services, which was understood to be worth $1.4 million (R25.8 million). Like Pirates, the North African giants are in contention to win domestic and continental honours and were looking to reinforce their squad before heading into the second half of the campaign. Mofokeng is believed to be a prime target for Zamalek, but this publication has been informed that the 1996 African champions rejected the offer for the youngster.” Wrote the publication.
