Orlando Pirates outcast receives shock European interest!

An Orlando Pirates star that is struggling to get game time, is surprisingly still attracting interest from a European club.

Orlando Pirates are looking to offload one of their forwards at the end of the season, according to reports.

Pirates are making it no secret that they’re looking to revamp their attack but there will be sacrifices.

One striker already left the club during the January transfer window in Bienvenu Eva Nga. Eva Nga recently left Pirates to rejoin his former club Chippa United. Now according to the latest reports, he is primed to be joined at the Buccaneers exit door by his countryman Souaibou Marou.

For the past two transfer windows, Marou has been rumoured to be leaving the club. It was also a shock to many when he left with the Pirates squad for their pre-season tour to Spain. He did not seem to impress there, and so it was no surprise that he started the season struggling to get into the match day squad. He did survive the transfer window, however, and did so again in January despite more exit rumours.

Now according to reports, there is both local and European interest in Marou.

“There are other players who are still on the loan list and Marou is one of them. Yes the coach and the (Pirates) technical team has given everyone the chance in the second half of the season. This to prove themselves and though it’s like that Marou is one of those who would be sent on loan. It will only change if things happen in a different way but for now Marou is on the loan list,”. Said the source.

The sources then added that should Marou leave Pirates, he won’t be short of options.

EUROPEAN CLUB WANTS TO BUY MAROU OUTRIGHT FROM PIRATES?

“Yes there are three teams in the DStv Premiership which are interested in him but there is also a team overseas that wanted him even before he came to Pirates that has inquired about him again. That team doesn’t want him on loan. They want to sign him permanently but since he still has a running contract with Pirates they have to meet all the demands by Pirates. But yes there is interest in the striker,” concluded the source.

With news that Pirates have not given up on Marou and want to loan him out, his overseas hopes may be dashed.
