Orlando Pirates Media Officer Thandi Merafe Is In Hot Water

TS Galaxy’s media officer Minenhle Mkhize has opened a case of common assault at Orlando police station against Orlando Pirates Media Officer Thandi Merafe.

TS Galaxy Media Officer Minenhle Mkhize revealed the following Statements on SAFM

“I was also assaulted in Orlando. I was slapped by the Pirates Media Officer Thandi. I was shocked. I didn’t know what to do . But I couldn’t hit back, not when we are facing serious issues of GBV in the country. I’m very disappointed cos I looked up to her. But what can I do”

“One of my colleagues who was there told her, ‘This is wrong what you are doing. This is very unprofessional and you might find yourself in a spot of bother because what you are doing is an act of criminality’.

“I was really astonished at that barbaric behaviour from someone like Thandi who has been in the game for some time.”

“This is not the first time we’ve had an incident of this nature. In our previous game in Orlando we were also treated this badly but we decided to let it go. But this one we won’t let go. We are officially lodging a complaint”

“During the scuffle, Tim called the Chairman of Pirates who told him to go inside…Dr Khoza then spoke to the security for a few minutes. The security came back and said Sukazi can no longer go inside. Tim also tried to call the Acting CEO, but to no avail”

“I did open a common assault case at Orlando police station yesterday [Tuesday] morning,” Mkhize said on Wednesday morning.

“After consulting with our (Galaxy’s) legal team we decided to open the case because the culprit must face consequences for their action.”
