Orlando Pirates are set to lose one of their youngster to PSL team.
Stellenbosch FC look to sign little-used Orlando Pirates defender
Stellenbosch FC have reportedly made enquiries about signing Orlando Pirates defender.
According to reports , the Winelands side confirmed recently that up to SEVEN – maybe more – senior players would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Those players are: Robyn Johannes , Waseem Isaacs , Stanley Dimgba , Nathan Sinkala , Sibusiso Mthethwa and Zitha Kwinika .
In addition, there has been widespread speculation that Ashley du Preez will also be departing having been linked with both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns .
In order to fill those gaps, Stellies will be forced to venture into the transfer market.
Monyane has not played a single match for Orlando Pirates
According to Kickoff , Stellenbosch are keen on making a move for the 22-year-old Monyane who has not featured in a single match for Orlando Pirates this season.
In addition, sources close to Stellenbosch claim the club is also interested in signing defender Vusi Sibiya from relegated Baroka FC .
“The club are looking for young blood and already have identified a number of youngsters it will promote from their MDC team for next season,” said the source.
“The club has made additional enquiries and is very keen to sign Monyane from Pirates. Vusi Sibiya from Baroka is also on their wanted list.”
Stellenbosch FC have tremendous strength in depth with their reserve team recently crowned 2021/22 DStv Diski Challenge champions.
Stellies currently occupy third place in the DStv Premiership standings, which, if the season were to finish today, would mean a CAF Confederation Cup place next season.
However, while they are finished with their campaign, Stellenbosch have to dodge a few bullets – from Royal AM and Orlando Pirates – in the week ahead if that were to become a reality.
