One of Mamelodi Sundowns’ players is on his way out.
Reports suggest that Pavol Safranko isn’t registered at Mamelodi Sundowns and might not have a future at the club.
Since the beginning of the 2022/23 season the Slovakian striker hasn’t been seen.
The club’s co-coach Rhulani Mokwena remained coy when he explained the absence of the 27-year-old striker.
“On Safranko, the club will make announcements,” Mokwena said as per SABC Sport.
“The profile of our club has changed a little bit. And there are certain things…but the club will make announcements, I am not at liberty to say at the moment.”
The Brazilians are facing an issue with regards their foreign quota limit set by the Premier Soccer League. The club can only have five foreign players unless they’re permanent residents.
According to the national broadcaster, Divine Lunga, Peter Shalulile, Erwin Saavedra, Gaston Sirino and Safranko were the five internationals in the previous season.
Lunga, who was recently loaned out to Golden Arrows, made space for the club’s new signing Abubeker Nasir.
The departure of Safranko would free up a space for one of the two foreign players that are yet to be announced by Sundowns – Chilean international Marcelo Allende and Moroccan defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil.
Furthermore, the club has made attempts to apply for a permanent resident permit (PRP) for Shalulile to free up another spot for one of the aforementioned signings.
