Kaizer Chiefs are hard at work behind the scenes in an effort to rebuild the team and end a seven-year trophy drought next season.
After having signed Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu on a pre-contract as well as Zitha Kwinika from Stellenbosch, reports suggest Chiefs are closing in on Yusuf Maart .
Maart is currently on the books of Sekhukhune United, and Soccer Laduma reports that Chiefs have made a breakthrough to secure his services.
The publication, through its sources, reports that Chiefs will submit their offer for Maart and that it will be accepted by Sekhukhune United.
Chiefs had been linked with the Bafana Bafana international for some time now, and talks have reportedly been ongoing with Sekhukhune.
“Expect Yusuf Maart to join Chiefs at the end of the season from Sekhukhune United. The talks have been ongoing behind the scenes and things look promising between all the parties involved and the announcement is expected to be made at the end of the season,” said the source.
Maart is an attacking midfielder who really raised his game since joining Sekhukhune United so much so that Orlando Pirates were also reported to be interested in him. Nonetheless, it appears as if Chiefs have won the race to sign him ahead of next season if media reports are anything to go by.
