MLS side ready to hijack top Orlando Pirates transfer target!

Orlando Pirates may be set to lose out on a top prospect they were close to reaching an agreement for, after some American interest surfaced!

Orlando Pirates are pressing ahead with their transfer plans for next season, with a new target identified.

Pirates was active during the January transfer window, signing Talent Mbatha and Thabiso Lebitso.

Already for the next season, Pirates have been linked with some names to further beef up their squad. Long-term targets such as Riaan Hanamub and Shaune Mogaila. Then there have been fresh targets like Stanley NwabaliShandre CampbellVelemseni NdwandweTshepang MoremiOswin Appollis and Andy Boyeli.

But that is just to name but a few. Speaking of names, Pirates look to have added a surprise name to their list. That is of Stellenbosch FC full back Thabo Moloisane. Late last month, this publication reported that the Buccaneers and Stellies were close to reaching an agreement for the player. Now according to reports, a Major League Soccer (MLS) side is willing to hijack the deal!

MLS SIDE INTERESTED IN MOLOISANE

“According to Siya sources, Thabo Moloisane, who is a subject of interest from Orlando Pirates, could be moving abroad. And the Siya Crew has learnt that the player’s future could well lay beyond the PSL. Moloisane has seen his stock rise over the last two seasons with Maritzburg United and now Stellenbosch FC, which has seen the likes of Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu pay close attention to the 25-year-old’s talents. Now, Siya sources have indicated that a potential move for Moloisane to the MLS could be on the cards although on condition that the offer is deemed good enough by Stellies.” Wrote the publication.

PIRATES DEAL TO FALL THROUGH?

Moloisane is a product of Mamelodi Sundowns development. After a few loan spells in the lower divisions, he took the brave step to break away completely. He has since increased his reputation at Stellenbosch, to the extent that Pirates have come calling. A move to the MLS, however, would help him fulfil his dream of playing abroad.
