Mason Greenwood, A Manchester United Player, Has Been Accused Of Committing A Heinous Crime Again.
Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United forward, has been arrested again on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill.
The 20-year-old was arrested for the first time on Sunday after a woman made allegations on social media, including the posting of photographs, video footage, and an audio recording.
Greenwood was then granted more time to question on Monday, with Greater Manchester Police stating in a statement that he remained in custody while investigations were ongoing.
“Detectives have been given more time to speak with a man in his 20s who was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman,” the force confirmed in a third press release.
“After we became aware of online social media images and videos posted by women reporting incidents of physical violence, the suspect was detained in custody on Sunday (30 January).”
“After magistrates granted an extension until tomorrow, he is still being interrogated” (Wednesday 2 February).
“Following the initial investigation, he was arrested again on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill.” The investigation is still underway, and the victim is still receiving expert assistance.
“We urge people to refrain from making any comments or sharing images that might jeopardize the victim’s right to lifelong anonymity or jeopardize an ongoing investigation.”
Greenwood has already been suspended from Manchester United, with the club confirming he will not return to training or games until further notice.
Statement from TeamViewer: “Any form of violence is condemned by TeamViewer. We are in constant contact with our partner Manchester United, and we appreciate and support their prompt actions.”
Statement from Cadbury: “Cadbury is opposed to all forms of violence. Our collaboration is with Manchester United as a whole, rather than with individual players.”
“However, while these allegations are being investigated, we will not feature this player in any marketing or products we create with Manchester United. We’ll keep a close eye on things.”
EA Sports has removed Mason Greenwood from the offline modes of FIFA 22.
The forward is no longer in United’s squad and has been completely removed from the offline database, thanks to EA Sports’ new squad update for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
Following the arrest of Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, Nike has also suspended their relationship with him.
