Manchester City bosses CANCEL crunch contract talks with first-team star

Officials at Manchester City have cancelled contract talks with Kyle Walker following an incident over the weekend, a report has claimed.

Reports over the last 24 hours have been rife after released CCTV footage appeared to show Walker “exposing himself in a Manchester bar”.

Details first emerged courtesy of  a report in the Sun on Tuesday night, after a video included within the story appeared to show Kyle Walker dropping his trousers in front of two women who he then engaged in conversation.

While Manchester City do not intend to hand Walker a fine or suspend him based on what they have seen, and consider this to be a private matter on a sanctioned day off for their first-team playing squad, it now appears as though greater damage has been done to his Etihad career.

This is according to a new update from the Sun, that claims Manchester City officials have now cancelled talks with Kyle Walker over a contract extension.

It is suggested that the 32 year-old right-back was due to hold talks with officials on Wednesday in a bid to extend his Manchester City contract beyond the current expiry date of June 2024.

The report states that City officials cancelled the meeting with immediate effect, while the Sun also quotes an unnamed source who says that the former Tottenham defender “appeared more concerned that the investigation would derail a deal than the threat of court”.

At the end of February, there had been a feeling in some quarters that given the exit of Joao Cancelo, and Kyle Walker’s impressive physical longevity, Manchester City may look to prolong his stay over the course of the coming weeks.

One report labelled the chances of Kyle Walker being offered a new Manchester City contract as ‘likely’, while the England star remains happy at the club, as well as a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s plans.

While initial talks over a new deal may have been cancelled for the time being, the chances of them being reopened at a later date does remain a possibility, and Manchester City may hold such intentions behind the scenes while matters concerning Walker are dealt with.
