Mamelodi Sundowns To Make Decision On Foreign Duo
With an Ethiopian international about to arrive at Chloorkop, Mamelodi Sundowns must make a difficult decision regarding their foreign slots.
Sundowns have used up their allotted five foreign players in the squad with the additions of Erwin Saavedra (Bolivia), Divine Lunga, Peter Shalulile, Pavol Safranko, and Gaston Sirino (Uruguay).
Due to their extended stays in South Africa (more than five years), Denis Onyango from Uganda, Brian Onyango from Kenya, and Kennedy Mweene from Zambia are all listed as South African citizens.
However, there are signs that Sundowns intend to register Lunga or Shalulile as locals in order to make more space for fresh immigrants as they aim to play in both domestic tournaments and the CAF Champions League.
The Siya crew has been informed that the club’s technical staff will determine whether or not to loan Nassir out to another DStv Premiership team before Nassir arrives at Sundowns for preseason.
The Tshwane giants will play a few friendly games to determine whether Nassir is prepared to play regularly for the first squad.
Sundowns are reportedly quite selective about the international players they allow into the club and may consider their choices before settling on a choice, according to Siya sources.
