Mamelodi Sundowns’ star is set to leave the club.

Mamelodi Sundowns star is on his way out of the Brazilian.

A longtime Sundowns player will depart at the end of the current campaign.

Reyaad Pieterse, the goalie for Mamelodi Sundowns, may depart the team at the end of the current campaign. Six league titles were won by the seasoned custodian.

Reyaad Pieterse, a former goalie for Bafana Bafana, is expected to depart Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the current campaign.

The 33-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, according to Mgosi Squad. Pieterse, who has only appeared in two games for Masandawana in all competitions, has been the team’s third choice goalie, behind Ronwen Williams and Denis Onyango, 40.

“From what I hear, he won’t be kept beyond this season. They took an option in his contract two years ago, but it’s the end of the road now,” a source told Mgosi Squad.

Sundowns to release experienced keeper end of the season

“He’s a positive influence in the dressing room, but unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out, and the club will release him when his contract expires at the end of the season.”

Jody February is in goal for Masandawana and will be Williams’ backup in the future. Given that there are only three months left in the season, Pieterse is unlikely to play for Sundowns again.

Pieterse joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2013 after beginning his career with Shamrock Rovers. After playing for Naturena for three seasons, he transferred to SuperSport United, where he participated in 20 games.

After joining rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018, he won six Premier Soccer League titles and had a chance to win one more in his final season.
