Transfer Update: Thabo Cele and Chiefs

According to information received by the Siya team, Thabo Cele’s relationship with Kaizer Chiefs is still ongoing, with his camp feeling that if he returned to South Africa, he would have a decent chance of playing for Bafana Bafana.

Amakhosi submitted an R1.5 million offer for the Radomiak midfielder, but the Polish club is adamant on keeping him.

Cele is believed to be leaning towards sticking in Poland because he is in the plans of Radomiak’s coach, who hopes to make a bigger move in Europe in the future, despite Amakhosi’s significant interest.

According to sources, Cele is high on Arthur Zwane’s list of players he wants for the 2019 season, and Amakhosi will not give up their chase of the former KZN Academy standout.

Cele has failed to break into Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad and would have a greater chance of playing consistently in the team if he returned to local football.

Yusuf Maart, Ethan Brooks, and Jesse Donn have broken into the team since the coach’s arrival, and Cele could be selected if he plays locally. Hugo Broos is giving more PSL players an opportunity to shine in the national squad, and Cele could benefit by returning to South Africa.
