Shozi became addicted to drugs as a result of toxic friendships. ‘It’s shocking because these men don’t even play football; I’m not sure how he became friends with them,’ said the insider.

According to a source close to the former Mamelodi Sundowns development player, Khayelihle Shozi’s appalling behavior, which saw him reported missing and seen strolling around the streets of Johannesburg as a beggar on drugs, is the result of bad company and stress.

Last month, videos of Shozi dressed as if he were homeless went viral on social media. The midfielder, who recently played in the GladAfrica Championship for JDR Stars, is said to have returned home and told his family that people he believed were his friends introduced him to drugs and then refused to help him when he couldn’t cope.

“Shozi has returned home to KwaZulu-Natal, where he is healing well and receiving all of the support he requires. He’s been talking about the events that led to him doing drugs, and he’s revealed that the individuals he thought were his buddies were the ones who persuaded him to do so.

“It’s shocking because these individuals don’t even play football; I have no idea how he got friends with them, and it’s quite concerning.” “I sincerely hope he doesn’t revert to his old self and start doing drugs once he’s fully recovered,” the person said.
People needs to choose friends wisely and if you see that those guys are leading you to bad road where you will end up falling in a deep pit, it is better you cut all your ties with them. Rather live alone than be in a company of bad friends.
Everyone should see this as a lesson and learn from it.
