Kaizer Chiefs transfer news | Three stars are set to depart Amakhosi.
Kaizer Chiefs full squad at Naturena training ground.

Kaizer As part of their effort to rebuild the squad, the Chiefs will dismiss a handful of players before the start of next season. Chiefs have been working hard for years to get their house in order so they can win trophies — they haven’t won one in seven years.

Siyethemba Sithebe will join the Chiefs during the offseason, but that is the only confirmed acquisition thus far. We look at the three players who will depart the Chiefs at the conclusion of the season regardless of what happens.

1. DUMISANI ZUMA
Zuma has only played twice for the Chiefs this season due to injury and suspension following an alleged drink-driving offense. Zuma’s current ban might spell the end of his career, especially because the Chiefs believe he isn’t disciplined. In January, the Chiefs planned to fire Zuma, but they changed their minds and decided to keep him since they couldn’t reach their goal to Naturena.
2. LAZAROUS KAMBOLE
Kambole has played with Chiefs for three seasons, but since his estimated R3 million transfer from ZESCO United, he has provided the squad almost nothing. The Zambian international has only appeared 43 times for Chiefs in all competitions and has scored three goals. That’s hardly a remarkable record for a striker, and his lack of playing time this season means the Chiefs will be without him next season.
3. ANTHONY AGAY AKUMU
Anthony Agay has only made 10 appearances for Chiefs this season, his latest game being against Swallows in November 2021. With Ernst Middendorp in charge of the squad two seasons ago, Akumu came in highly regarded, but he hasn’t persuaded all Chiefs supporters. Despite mostly playing as a center midfielder, Akumu has only made 47 appearances for Chiefs and has only scored twice.
