Kaizer Chiefs to terminate new signing’s contract?

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be already thinking of cutting ties with a player who they only signed at the beginning of the season.

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to make some major changes to their playing staff next season.

Even though there have been names linked with a move to Chiefs, the club is also set to release some.

Players like Siyethemba Sithebe and Sifiso Hlanti have been mentioned, with their deals up soon. They have been joined by Happy Mashiane, Njabulo Ngcobo and Zitha Kwinika of late. Furthermore, George MatlouKeagan Dolly and Jasond Gonzalez are just some of the other names that could leave. There have also been reports that midfield duo Samkelo Zwane and Sabelo Radebe could leave Chiefs on loan next season.

On the other side of the spectrum, a new name has entered the list of possible permanent exits. That being in the form of winger Tebogo Potsane. Potsane was one of nine signings Chiefs made in the 2023/24 season. He was a surprising signing for many, as he joined the club out of nowhere, with no speculation in sight. But just as quickly as he came, could be as quickly as he goes.

Potsane was involved in the early stages of his move to Chiefs, figuring in ex-coach Molefi Ntseki’s match day squads. But since Cavin Johnson’s take over, he has been completely sidelined.

CHIEFS TO TERMINATE POTSANE DEAL?

“The Siya crew understands that the future of Tebogo Potsane is uncertain at Naturena. Indications are that there is a consideration being made on the future Potsane. This could either come to an agreement for separation or be placed on the transfer list. This would then allow Chiefs to listen to offers for purchase” wrote the publication.

NOT ENOUGH IMPACT?

Potsane has featured only 11 times for Chiefs this season, making two assists. He joined the club on an initial three-year deal which he now looks unlikely to see out.
