Chiefs To Make Decision On Another Potential Signing

After confirming five new additions, Kaizer Chiefs are expected to make a decision on another potential signing as part of the club’s plans to assemble a strong squad for coach Arthur Zwane for the eagerly-awaited 2022/23 season.

Amakhosi have unveiled Siyethemba Sithebe, George Matlou, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Dillon Solomons, the club’s youth product Mduduzi Shabalala has signed a first team deal.

The five players have been added to Ashley Du Preez and Zitha Kwinika who had already been unveiled by the Soweto giants.

As reported Kaizer Chiefs have also been chasing the signature of Pule Mmodi from Golden Arrows and indications are that Amakhosi are still in discussions with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit about the possible deal.

While details remain unclear about the transfer fee that is being discussed, sources have indicated that Abafana Bes’thende are willing to part with the Bafana Bafana winger but only if their demands are met.

“Arrows are open to selling Pule Mmodi to Chiefs as long as they can meet their offer. The chairlady has no problem to sell and is aware of the interest in the player. The discussions are ongoing,” said the source.

“This is something that has already been discussed with the player by his current employers and he is just waiting for the outcome and ready to move on. Arrows players are scheduled to report back on June 27 from the break and we will see if that’s where Pule will be or elsewhere on that day,” the source added.

As confirmed by the source, Mmodi is left with one year on his contract with Arrows.
