Kaizer Chiefs Target Zungu: ‘I need a few weeks to decide’

It’s no secret that the Kaizer Chiefs want Bongani Zungu to play for them at Naturena. The towering central midfielder has disclosed the new focus of his French club.
What a coup Bongani Zungu may be for Kaizer Chiefs. However, the deal’s prospects are now in jeopardy.
As previously reported, Zungu retaliated against his Amiens coach for criticizing his weight before demanding to leave the French club.
Things have, however, altered since then. The Kaizer Chiefs midfield target has returned to the Ligue 2 side.
“Bongani Zungu has confirmed to the Siya Crew that his French outfit Amiens SC has asked him to consider remaining at the club,” Soccer Laduma reported in their latest issue on Wednesday.
“We spoke about my contract. The club approached me about renewing it and things like that.”
His Amiens coach has expressed an interest in continuing to work with him, according to the former University of Pretoria player.
“The coach also asked me about it a couple of weeks back. He wants to know what I want to do,” Zungu added as quoted by Soccer Laduma.
“I’ve asked for a few more weeks to decide – not that I don’t know what I want to do, but I just need time to decide.
“If there’s anything important the club wants to discuss in terms of my contract, they can speak to my agent.
“For now, I just want to focus on playing,” Zungu added.
Kaizer Chiefs are anticipated to make an offer to Zungu that will entice him to Naturena rather than stay in France.
