Kaizer Chiefs overtake Sundowns for top target with low-ball offer?.

Here we go, as Fabrizio Romano would say.

Kaizer Chiefs may be in the money as they pursue a key target and attempt to steal him from under Sundowns’ noses.

Kaizer Chiefs derail Sundowns’ Salum deal?

Chiefs have reportedly offered R15 million to sign Feisal Salum from Azam FC, a Sundowns target, according to Soccer-Laduma.

“The club has taken the proposal by assistant coach Cedric Kaze very seriously concerning the need to sign Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum from Azam FC and that is why they have made an offer. For now, I can tell you that it’s not in the region of around R30 million that the club asked for the player when Sundowns inquired about him but it’s a good offer from Chiefs who have a tight budget at the moment. It will all depend on the other conditions and clauses in the proposal which could motivate Azam to consider what Chiefs have put on the table,” said a source.

“Their offer that they are apparently proposing to Azam is around R15m. But there are other clauses in the proposal which could be enticing to Azam to look at the proposal with interest. And also knowing that both Kaze and Nabi have worked with him before, that could be a plus factor for the deal to happen though at the moment it’s just an offer put on the table,” said another source.

Salum is the real deal

The Citizen also reported Chiefs’ interest in Salum. Amakhosi can outbid Azam and provide him better terms because they have the money. If the Chiefs wish to entice the midfield player away from his own country, they will have to go through a difficult round of negotiations. The master of attacking midfield scored 19 goals in the previous season and has already reached double figures for 2024–2025.

Amakhosi players are satisfied with Nadreddine Nabi.

The Chiefs players are content to play for the Tunisian and still have faith in Nabi, according to Soccer-Laduma. Chiefs are currently in ninth place in the Betway Premiership, ten points behind the leaders after eight games.
