Kaizer Chiefs latest: Amakhosi star has NEW role at Naturena!
A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has suggested that Eric Mathoho will play a ‘new’ role at the club.
The long-standing defender, alongside goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, are the only senior players left at Naturena.
And while his form may not see him feature regularly under Arthur Zwane, his role at the Glamour Boys according to Nhlanhla Kubheka.
Especially since the arrival of defender Zitha Kwinika, Mathoho may find little to no game-time under Arthur Zwane.
Despite this, Kaizer Chiefs will indeed have a fresh looking side next season. Meaning Mathoho looks set to play a vital ‘mentoring’ role to the club’s youngsters!

“You must keep those players who you think are influential in terms of guiding the youngsters and I think Mathoho fits that profile.” the former Kaizer Chiefs defender told Sowetan .
“Every team needs one or two senior players. Even though they might not play but their presence can do wonders in the camp.
“Mathoho is one of few senior guys left now. So maybe his role will be more of being a mentor to the young ones and the new ones.”
In other news Kaizer Chiefs are not done in the Transfer Market just yet according to a senior club official.
Amakhosi marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung has hinted at further new signings at Naturena.
The Glamour Boys have already welcomed seven new faces to Naturena.
Kaizer Chiefs made headlines after confirming the arrivals of Ashley Du Preez and Zitha Kwinika from Stellenbosch.
They then confirmed the arrivals of Siyethemba Sithebe, Yusuf Maart, Dillon Solomons, George Matlou and Kamohelo Mahlatsi.
And now, Motaung has hinted at further new acquisitions!

“It is still the signing window. So when everything is done, we will let you know.” – Jessica Motaung told Sowetan .
“But if there are certainly new announcements coming, it will be made to the public.
“I’m glad that the Kaizer Chiefs supporters are excited and I think it is important that they are part of the journey.
“We want them to support the players that we bought together and we are also excited that we now have 100% of fans in the stadium with the way things look.
“Our target is success, success at all levels and that’s very key at Kaizer Chiefs. Hence the work that you see being done at the technical level and the management level and at the brand level,”
