The Kaizer Chiefs are cleaning their roster in order to bring more talent to their team. Do you believe this is the appropriate decision?
Kaizer Chiefs is getting ready to let go of one of its own.
Zitha Kwinika was born and raised in Meadowlands, Gauteng, just a short distance from AmaKhosi’s FNB Stadium, the site of his debut.
He progressed through the ranks at Kaizer Chiefs, making his first-team debut in 2014. A year later, he was sent to Chippa United on a season-long loan.
With no plans to let Kwinika go, the Gqeberha team signed him the following season. He would spend the next three years of his career there, excluding a time at Thanda Royal Zulu, before securing a permanent transfer to Bidvest Wits in 2019.
He moved again a year later, this time to Stellenbosch FC, and after making fifty-five appearances, he rejoined Kaizer Chiefs, the team where it all started.
But after two years and thirty-seven outings, he is once again nearing the end of his Soweto career.
What we know
“Zitha is a good professional, but this season, it hasn’t worked out for him,” an anonymous source revealed.
“He did well in the past two seasons at Chiefs and was an important member of the team. However, coach Nabi hasn’t used him. It’s clear that he’s not in the coach’s plans, and he might be offloaded as early as January.
So far, I’m not sure if there have been any offers for him from other PSL clubs, but what is clear is that coach Nabi prefers other players to him.”
Should he be released by Kaizer Chiefs?
