Kaizer Chiefs Are Still Pursuing A SuperSport United player.
With the January transfer window likely to end in the next seven days, Kaizer Chiefs could still sign SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule.
Mbule’s quality has long been admired by the Chiefs, and his agent, Mike Makaab, acknowledged that the two teams made initial contact in August of last year.
“There is, indeed. Yes, there is interest in Mbule,” Mikaab told iDiski Times before the Tokyo Olympics.
“However, as I previously stated, we have not had formal conversations with any football club in South Africa, strictly out of respect for SuperSport United.”
This publication has learned, however, that Amakhosi may still make an official bid for the South Africa international in the coming days.
Mamelodi Sundowns and Matsatsansa have agreed on personal terms with Teboho Mokoena, with Anderlecht also interested.
It remains to be seen whether the club will be prepared to part with both of their midfield stars, who are both under contract for the foreseeable future.
However, with Mbule only playing 90 minutes in the league four times this season, the emergence of Selaelo Rasebotja, Oswin Oppolis, and Thalente Mbatha, as well as Jamie Webber and Jesse Donn, could lessen the impact.
Mbule stated unequivocally that he prefers to be at Naturena. Kaizer Chiefs should take advantage of this opportunity and entice the player to join their club. He is willing to leave his current team in search of a fresh challenge. His heart is no longer at Matsatsansa, but elsewhere.
Can The Amakhosi finally get their man? Are they willing to break the bank for him and put a smile on their supporters’ faces? Should the player ship to another team? It remains to be seen if it will happen before the transfer window ends.
