Kaizer Chiefs To Pay R21 Million For Top Striker?
Kaizer Chiefs is likely to pay around R21 million to land one of the club’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s prime targets.
After announcing Nabi and his technical team, Amakhosi’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., said that the club is going to back the Tunisian to succeed at the club by signing top quality players.
After signing left fullback, Bongani Sam from arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, the club is said to be after one of Africa’s top strikers, Fiston Mayele, as Nabi sees him as the forward who can lead his line at the club.
However, Amakhosi has to pay around USD1.2 million(around R21 million) to sign the 30-year-old from the Egyptian club Pyramids, according to one of Africa’s leading journalists, Micky Jnr.
“Pyramids’ price tag on Fiston Mayele is USD $1.2 million,” Micky said on X.
The Egyptian Premier League leaders are prepared to partways with the league leading goalscorer at the end of the season later this year, but Nabi is looking to sign him.
“They will only listen to offers for him after the end of the season in Egypt. Mayele is the top scorer in Egypt so far with 13 goals. He’s a priority target for Nabi and Kaizer Chiefs,” Micky concluded.
Meanwhile, the Naturena-based club is set to welcome new players later this week, as a high profile middlefielder and a defender are set to join Amakhosi.
