Kaizer Chiefs have set their sights on Nigerian International Defender Denis Nya of Zesco United.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chiefs have already secured Botswana Defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe from Super sports United, on pre contract to join in June but will also continue monitoring Nya and could make at move at the end of the season.

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly interested in signing Zesco United and Nigeria defender Dennis Nya, nmmabunda media understands.

Nya joined Zesco United with fellow compatriot Wasiu Jimoh in the january transfer and he has featured in all Zesco United games played so far this season.

The former Junior international started his football career with Canaan United academy in the Nigerian city of Calabar between 2011 and 2013 where he was coached b John Ene Okon.

Nya represented Nigeria at the 2013 U17 AFCON finals where the Super Eagles were runners-up.Nya was named in the Golden Eaglets squad for the FIFA U17 World Cup finals where he was a teammate of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho and Nottingham Forest attacker Taiwo Awoniyi.Nya was born in 1996 and is a commanding, physically imposing central defender.

Nya is one of the few defender that have the ability scored goal, he scored in the final of the 2016 Benue State FA Cup against Dreams FC for Lobi before scoring goals for Akwa in the Nigeria Professional Football League and Caf Confederation Cup.

Nya started out at Nigerian second tier outfit Ekiti United in 2013, before making the move to top-flight club Lobi Stars in 2015. Nya mov representing Akwa United

In 2020, Plateau United announced that they signed Denis Nya on a season loan, he return to Akwa United after his loan completion and the won the NPFL title with Akwa United.

In 2023, Zambian outfit Zesco United announced his arrival with fellow Nigeria striker Wasiu Jimoh from Akwa United and Kwara United respectively.
