Innocent Maela Revealed What Should Be Done When the Second Season Starts
Innocent Maela has pondered on reaching the extraordinary milestone of 100 appearances for the Orlando Pirates, joining a select club of players who have accomplished the achievement.
After joining the Buccaneers from Thanda Royal Zulu in 2017, the utility defender made an immediate impact, making 100 appearances for the club, a goal he achieved in Pirates’ 2-1 victory over AmaZulu on Thursday night.
“I never imagined I’d reach such a high point in my profession; it’s a difficult thing to attain, especially for an academy graduate.” But, by God’s grace, I succeeded. I had no idea at first. My stats were brought up by a family member who informed me.

Despite his tremendous career with the Buccaneers, Maela has lacked trophies. He only won the MTN8 title during his stint with the club, something he aims to rectify in the new year.
