Information regarding the passing of Mapula, Itumeleng Khune’s sister
In March 2021, the Kaizer Chiefs skipper, Itumeleng Isaac Khune suffered the loss of his little sister, a few days after spending the day with her.
Here is a look at who Itumeleng Khune’s sister was, the circumstances surrounding her tragic and untimely death, as well as her murder case.
Itumeleng Khune’s sister was the late Mapula Khune. She was a marketer with a degree in Business Management.
She was also an entrepreneur with a couple of online businesses including a clothing business and a furniture store.
According to her Instagram bio, the late Mapula Khune was also the CEO of her brother’s charitable organization- The Khune Foundation.
Itumelenf Khune’s sister died on 4th March 2021 in mysterious circumstances involving a fire. Here are all the details about her untimely death.
Itumeleng Khune’s sister- Mapula Khune was reportedly killed near Ventersdorp in North West after a fire broke out in the room she was staying in.
According to the police report, neighbours made calls to the emergency services after they saw smoke coming out of Itumeleng Khune’s grandmother’s house where his sister was spending the night.
The body of the late Mapule Khune which was burnt beyond recognition during the fire incident was found on top of a bed in one of the rooms in the house. The room was the only one burnt down in the incident while the rest of the house remained practically untouched by the fire.
Shortly after her death, a teenage boy was arrested in connection with Khune’s death. The 17-year-old was however later released as the police claimed that they didn’t have enough evidence against him.
A year after the death of Itumeleng Khune’s sister, justice is yet to be served to her family as investigations about the circumstances surrounding her death have not yet been released and it seems that her case was thrown out by the police.
Taking to social media, some of the family members and friends of the late Mapule Khune took to social media using the hashtag #justiceforMeikiKhune to try to get justice for their late sister and friend.
Accompanying the post was a screenshot of a message that the family had sent to the NPA requesting an update about the investigation into Mapule’s case but had gotten no feedback.
While we hope that the Bafana Bafana goalie and his family find closure and justice for the death of his sister, we continue to hope that the beautiful soul of the young woman finds peace.
