Full list of candidates for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates’ new captains

New captains for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates: Full list of candidates.
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will have new captains next season. Here is the full list of potential leaders of both clubs.
Their has been a clean sweep of club captains for the Soweto giants with Chiefs and Pirates letting go of Bernard Parker and Happy Jele respectively.
Now, Amakhosi and the Bucs will have to dawn in a new era under new leadership.
CHIEFS CAPTAIN CANDIDATES:
Kaizer Chiefs players Keagan Dolly and Itumeleng Khune
Kaizer Chiefs players Keagan Dolly and Itumeleng Khune could take over the captaincy in Naturena next season.
FULL LIST OF AMAKHOSI CANDIDATES:
– Itumeleng Khune
– Erick Mathoho
– Khama Billiat
– Keagan Dolly
Amakhosi said goodbye to Parker as well as Ramahlwe Mphahlele, with both men captaining Chiefs last season. They also let go of Daniel Cardoso who also had a run at the captaincy role last season.
That leaves them with a seemingly obvious replacement in Amakhosi legend and club veteran, Itumeleng Khune. However, Khune has struggled for gametime and is not guaranteed regular playing time. If Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard opt for Brandon Peterson or Bruce Bvuma in goal then that leaves us with Mathoho.
However, the same can be said for Mathoho, he is struggling for form and could still leave Chiefs before the transfer window is up.
Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly are the most experienced and valuable players left in Amakhosi. They are both strong candidates and both men are guaranteed regular starts as an instrumental part of this side.
PIRATES POTENTIAL LEADERS:
Thembinkosi Lorch Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates will have to find a brand-new captain. Thembinkosi Lorch is one of the strongest candidates.
FULL LIST OF BUCS CANDIDATES:
– Thabang Monare
– Thembinkosi Lorch
– Ben Motshwari
– Richard Ofori
Pirates let go of Happy Jele, Thulani Hlatshwayo and Ntsikelelo Nyauza. Their captain and vice-captains, now Jose Riveiro will have to find completely new leaders, a man that can carry this new era of Buccaneers.
Lorch appears the clear favourite to captain the Bucs next season. Given his return to form and vast experience. Monare and Motshwari also bring experience to the table. However, Motshwari had discipline issues last season and Monare almost left the club.
Ofori is experienced, he was instrumental during Pirates silver medal finish in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Amakhosi and the Bucs are ushering in a new era – new coaches, technical staff, players and captains.
