Departed Pirates Star Out To Prove A Point
A heavy-hearted former Orlando Pirates midfielder said he is eager to make a statement at his new club after parting ways with the Soweto giants.
In his letter to Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza, the Soweto-born lanky midfielder admitted that it saddens him to part ways with the club he grew up supporting and a club that is not only dear to his heart but his family as well.
However, Linda Mntambo has quickly made peace with his Pirates’ fate and already feels at home at Sekhukhune United, where he was unveiled as a new signing alongside Tshegofatso Mabasa, Denwin Farmer, Abednego Mosiatlhaga, Elias Mokwana and Tshepo Mokhabi on Tuesday.

“The reception from the coaches and players has been warm and welcoming. I already feel at home. It is my first day today [Tuesday], we had a tough session, but I am already at home and excited on my new journey,” Mntambo told the club’s media team.
“It is a new chapter, and I just want to write my name into the history books of Babina Noko, make a statement, and ensure that I make myself happy, my family proud, the community I come from, and above all, the team.
“I want to do well individually and together as a team, and I hope we achieve our goals as a club and hope that the upcoming season brings us success.”
