Former Orlando Pirates Midfielder Revealed Why He Opted Pirates Over Chiefs
“I was waiting for Chiefs,” he said on the MacG podcast.
“I support Chiefs, I’m waiting for Chiefs to come. Listen I don’t care how much Chiefs are going to pay me.
“Anybody that is an official, let him come and speak to me. I’ve spoke to all those teams and I’ve spoken to officials.
“You know what Kaizer Chiefs does? They sent a player to actually come and talk to me, so I felt disrespected.
“I was like, if Orlando Pirates can actually sent an official to come and talk to me, that’s why I didn’t join Chiefs but I was actually waiting for Kaizer Chiefs.
“That’s the only reason why I didn’t join Kaizer Chiefs, because of how they dealt with the situation because I was waiting for them.”
Modise revealed that instead of kaizer Chiefs sending the club’s official…. Kaizer Chiefs choosed to send their player (Siphiwe Mkhonza) at the time. From that point of time he knew they were not the right side for him.
“They sent Siphiwe Mkhonza at the time, cause I played with him at Ria Stars, they sent him to actually come and talk to me.
“No disrespect to Siphiwe but I felt disrespected. I’m like nah, I’m not going to join Chiefs.”
Teko Modise Stayed four years with Orlando Pirates before jumping the Ship to Mamelodi Sundowns, where he had most successful spell of his caree. He won the CAF Champions League in 2016 With Mamelodi Sundowns.
