Former Mamelodi Sundowns is on his way to Join Kaizer Chiefs.
Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns superstar says yes Kaizer Chiefs.
A former Mamelodi Sundowns star is ready to join Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new season but only on one condition.
Kaizer Chiefs have been looking to improve their squad ahead of the next season, with three players in so far.
Chiefs have also lost out on a whole lot of targets so far, as they look to bolster their roster.
As it stands, Chiefs have signed the trio of Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley. So far, it has only been the latter that has been unveiled by Amakhosi, this ahead of their 4-0 loss to Yanga SC. Neither of them did come on though, and had to watch the Toyota Cup loss to the Tanzanian giant. Sam is the only one of the trio who joined early enough to go to Turkey with the squad.
Chiefs have three new signings so far
Sam joins directly from arch rivals Orlando Pirates, even though he does so via two loan spell at Moroka Swallows. According to reports, he might not be the only player that could join Chiefs from a rival club. It has been rumoured that Amakhosi have an interest in Gaston Sirino. Initial talk was, they were ready to move for the veteran playmaker, if he can severe ties from Mamelodi Sundowns. He has since done so and as a free agent, could join the club with very few hassles.
Now according to The Citizen, Sirino is ready to join Chiefs, but only of new coach Nasreddine Nabi approves!
“Gaston (Sirino) is training on his own now and he’s ready for his next move but at the moment there’s nothing concrete here in South Africa. There was a possibility of him moving back to South America but he prefers to play in the PSL and if the new coach at Chiefs wants him, he’s ready to sign for them. He still has a lot to offer even though he is 33.”said the source to the same publication.
Sirino ready to join if Nabi approves
Chiefs currently have a very young squad, with Mduduzi Shabalala and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo the lead playmakers at the moment. There is also the more experienced Mduduzi Mdantsane who is currently injured. What the game against Yanga showed is that, there is no substitute for experience. That could be the way in which Sirino gets himself to Naturena.
Chiefs fans, would a 33-year-old Sirino be a good signing? Or should Nabi trust the youth? Feel free to voice your thoughts and feelings below.
