Former Free State mayor Mandla Mamba Has Been Found Guilty Of Fraud
The former mayor of Nketoana Local Municipality Mandla Mamba and Former chief financial officer Vincent Mkhefa have been sentenced to eight years imprisonment by the Bethlehem Commercial Crimes Court.
They were found guilty of the following charges:.
– Fraud, – Money laundering, – Contravening Municipal Finance Management Act.
The Service provider Caroline Nketu(52) was Sentenced to four years direct imprisonment .
Hawks spokesperson Christopher Singo says their conviction originates from an incident which occurred in 2011.
Singo says a whistleblower reported a tender fraud and corruption committed at the municipality regarding the installation of equipment in the parks where correct procurement procedure were not followed.
