The 40-year-old Cameroonian legend did not appear in court in Madrid and has never admitted to being Erika Do Rosario Nieves’ father.

However, on Thursday, court No. 83 in Madrid issued a decision, bringing an end to a judicial process that began in 2018 with the girl’s mother.

Adileusa, Erika’s mother, met Eto’o in a Madrid nightclub in 1997, according to reports.

That was when the ex-striker was a member of Leganes, a local team.

Before returning to Real Madrid, Eto’o spent the 1997-98 season on loan at the club, scoring four goals in 30 appearances.

According to Spanish news agency EFE, the singer and Adileusa established a connection, and she found out she was pregnant in February 1998, according to the lawsuit.

The footballer ‘told her that he would act appropriately with respect to the common kid, but he wished that she did not give birth to the child,’ according to the lawsuit.

‘During the pregnancy, she tried to correspond with the prospective father (Eto’o), but he did not answer her phone calls or respond to her emails,’ according to the complaint.

After returning to Spain on loan from Real Madrid, Eto’o was playing for Espanyol in La Liga.

Adileusa filed the case in 2018, citing biological evidence to back up her claim that Erika was Eto’o’s daughter.

He is claimed to have had no contact with the court during the proceedings and was not present when the decision was made.

The court ordered Eto’o to pay the young woman an allowance of €1,400 (£1,167) every month, beginning when the lawsuit was filed.

After achieving superstardom with Barcelona between 2004 and 2009, Eto’o is considered one of the best African footballers ever.

With them, he won two Champions League titles before joining Inter Milan and adding another to his trophy case.

After that, he played for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, Chelsea, and Everton in England, before going on to play for Sampdoria, Antalyaspor, and Konyaspor, before finishing his career with Qatar SC in 2019.

With his country, Eto’o has won two Africa Cup of Nations crowns and an Olympic gold medal.
