For the First Time, Lebogang Manyama Breaks His Silence and Gives The Amakhosi Faithful Assurance.
Lebogang Manyama, the Kaizer Chiefs attacker, has spoken out about his injury struggles this season as he works his way back into the team.
The player has been out with an injury for much of the season, but he is now available for selection, giving head coach Stuart Baxter more options in attack. Manyama assured Amakhosi supporters that he would return to his best form soon.
“I was out for a significant portion of the season. My knee had been bothering me, but it’s good to be back and training with the boys. Every day, I try to improve.
It’s difficult to keep up with the other guys because games keep coming. Slowly, but steadily, I’m getting there. “My knee is stronger now, and I’ll be back to my best soon,” the former Cape Town City captain said ahead of Saturday’s match at Peter Mokaba Stadium against Baroka FC.
Amakhosi have had some difficult battles with Baroka in the past, as evidenced by their inability to complete a double over the Limpopo outfit. After defeating Baroka in the first half of the season, Amakhosi now have the chance to defeat them twice in a single season for the first time in their history.
“Whether good or bad, history is always present. I don’t pay attention to it. We can’t really care about what happened before; all that matters is what we do on Saturday and in the future. We need to make sure that we apply ourselves correctly and play the way we’ve been practicing in order to get the most points.”
