European giants make R55m bid for Mamelodi Sundowns star!

Mamelodi Sundowns has reportedly received an R55 million bid from a European major for one of its key players!

Mamelodi Sundowns could face a huge bid for one of their best players during the January transfer window.

Glasgow Rangers are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Sundowns forward Iqraam Rayners!

Rangers interested in Rayners

Rangers are familiar with the South African market, having previously expressed interest in Relebohile Mofokeng. The Orlando Pirates player opted to stay with the Soweto giants rather than make a move. However, it appears that Rangers have not yet exited the South African market. Recently, this outlet revealed that they had inquired about Rayners. According to Soccer-Laduma, they have gone one step further and submitted a massive proposal for the player! The bid is reported to be worth a whopping R55 million!

“It’s true the offer is there (Rayners) and it’s around R55 million but you know it’s the Sporting Director (Flemming Berg) who deals with such things. He is the one in charge of the dealings at the club and the others do contracts and daily running only. But as far as the outgoings and the incomings are concerned, it’s the Sporting Director and the offer came through his office but it’s there,” said one source to the publication.

Make R55 million offer to Sundowns

According to a source, Rangers are expecting Sundowns’ reaction on their value for Rayners.

“If Sundowns will counter that offer or they can name their price tag if they are interested. Because it doesn’t mean the offer that Rangers have tabled or offered is the final one. So, any deal still remains in the hands of Sundowns as they have the final say. But as things stand now they are not ready to let their top striker (Rayners) go just after signing him this season. Even though the R55m offer is there it’s not clear cut that a deal would happen,” said the source.

It now remains to be seen if that price would be enough for Sundowns to release their main man. Masandawana fans, should the club cash in on Rayners?
