Due To Rape Claims, Jub Jub apologizes To Amanda Du Pont.
Amanda Du-Pont apparently stated that Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, a musician and media figure, had earlier admitted to rapping her and sought for forgiveness.
According to Sowetan, Amanda’s criminal case statement was presented to the Brixton police station on February 10, where she filed a rape charge against the Uyajola 99 host.
Amanda claims in the complaint that when Jub Jub was freed from prison for culpable homicide in 2017, he contacted her through a mediator. They eventually met, and the musician is said to have apologized.
“I spoke with him [Maarohanye] and inquired if he was aware of the fact that he had raped me. Yes, he said. In her statement, DuPont added, “I asked him why he raped me, and all he could say was that he was sorry.”
Mavela Masondo, a police spokeswoman, told TshisaLIVE that while he could confirm a rape case was filed on February 10, he was not at liberty to discuss the case or reveal the suspect’s identity because it was still under investigation.
“A rape case was filed on February 10 and is currently being investigated. So far, no arrests have been made,” he stated.
“We’ve always been honest with our chillers, so why can’t we (do it) this time?”
“It was inappropriate for me to discuss the intimate details of my relationship with Ms Du-Pont in public. I deeply regret the incident. I wish to apologise unreservedly to Amanda for the humiliation and hurt I caused her,” he wrote.
