Citi Lyts was closing his joint at about 10 p.m. last night when a group of armed thugs pounced on him and fatally shot him before fleeing with his cash, according to a source close to his family.

DJ’S DEATH HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY HIS FAMILY.

Mkhize was allegedly shot eight times during the encounter, according to reports.

Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini, a family spokeswoman, confirmed that Mkhize had died.

Mkhize passed dead around 00:30, according to Dlamini.

“They were ambushed, to put it that way.” They joined forces, and four men appeared out of nowhere, halted them, and shot them in the head. They battled as hard as they could, and then the guys opened fire.

“I don’t know how many people were in the car yet, but it happened in Soweto’s Dube.”
