In their pursuit of a highly-rated defender who has sparked interest from other DStv Premiership clubs, Kaizer Chiefs may face competition from rivals.

Kaizer Chiefs are said to have inquired about the availability of Cape Town All Stars defender Ryan Baartman in order to add him to their squad for next season, while Cape Town City, Stellenbosch, and TS Galaxy have also been linked with him.

According to sources close to the situation, while the 24-year-old centre-contract back’s with the Mother City outfit has another year left on it, the GladAfrica Championship side is aware of the interest in his services and is willing to listen to offers.

Some Gauteng clubs have expressed interest in Chiefs, according to the source, though no names of potential suitors have been revealed at this time.

“A few more clubs from Gauteng are keeping an eye on Cape Town All Stars defender Ryan Baartman. “It’s some of the league’s best clubs, and it appears that All Stars will struggle to keep him at the end of the season due to a buyout clause in his contract,” the source said.

Amid the other teams interest in Baartman, can the Amakhosi finally win the race of this one or it will be same as other players.

Does Kaizer Chiefs needs another defender this time or a goal potching  and deadly striker to solver their goal scoring drought.
