Breaking News | Kaizer Chiefs are edged to completing their 5th signing.
Kaizer Chiefs have been offered a chance to sign a high-profile midfield star based in Morocco!
According to reports, the Glamour Boys have been handed the option of signing 28-year-old Congolese star Fabrice Ngoma!
The central midfielder who is the heartbeat of Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Kaizer Chiefs, who will undoubtedly be looking to refurbish their midfield, have since been offered the option of signing the former AS Vita star!
Highly-rated Raja Casablanca and Democratic Republic of Congo midfield enforcer, Fabrice Ngom has emerged as one of the possible solutions for Kaizer Chiefs.
According to SABC Sport Ngoma’s three-year contract at the Moroccan giants is coming to an end next month and he has now been offered to Chiefs.
It is not the first time Ngoma has been linked with Amakhosi. Before his move to Raja three years ago, his name come up when they were considering a long-term replacement for Willard Katsande, who is now at Sekhukhune United.
With Kenyan international midfielder Akumu Agay and Kearyn Baccus forming part of the close to 10 players that the Soweto giants are looking to offload in the coming days, the defensive midfield position is one they have yet to find a solution for since Katsande’s exit.
Ngoma, formerly with AS Vita Club, has enjoyed a fruitful spell in North Africa since his arrival at the two-time African champions, as they lifted the CAF Confederation Cup title as recently as last season.
The 28-year-old has played 85 matches for Raja, including 29 matches across the CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup and Super Cup.
Asked about this problematic position at Amakhosi recently, newly-appointed head coach Arthur Zwane described the ideal number six that the club would like to bring in.
“I think your number six should be more like your playmaker, more than a fighter. And I’m not a coach that believes in your break attacks or counter attacks or transition game,” explained Zwane.
“I believe that when we score a goal, you should see when we build up from the back that the goal is coming, and not because of me but that’s how Kaizer Chiefs is supposed to play.
“Because Kaizer Chiefs is a big team. So, your number six should be a playmaker.”
Ngoma, who had a direct contribution in seven goals in this season’s Botola Pro League and Champions League combined, is also believed to have an option of reuniting with former coach Florent Ibenge at the newly-crowned Confed Cup champions RS Berkane.
