Big Blow For Jub Jub As Sponsors Continue To Drop Him

Amstel dumps MacG, Moja Love suspend Jub Jub with immediate effect.

Alcoholic beverage maker Amstel is the latest big brand to distance themselves and withdraw their sponsorship from the show  ‘Podcast and Chill’ after transphobic comments.

“The Amstel brand, locally and globally, is centred around friendship and inclusion of all people, regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation without discrimination, and we distance ourselves from any transphobic and homophobic views.

“We have officially parted ways with Podcast and Chill with MacG and will no longer be a partner from December 1 2021.”

The pair have previously lost sponsorship deals from Old Mutual and Studio 88 for transphobic jokes made on the show by Jub Jub.

Meanwhile Moja Love suspended Uyajola 99 host Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye amid allegations of sexual assault against the star.

The channel confirmed the decision in a statement on Thursday night, distancing themselves from Jub Jub’s remarks and said they have suspended the star.

“Jub Jub conducted an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, which aired on Channel O day before yesterday, in his personal capacity. Moja Love was not part of the editorial of that interview and they are  not associated with the content thereof.

“As a channel we don’t condone any gender-based violence in any way and under any circumstances. As Moja Love, we have decided to suspend Jub Jub.”
