Al Ahly and Rangers are battling for Orlando Pirates star’s signature.

African champions Al Ahly are set to battle Scottish giants Rangers for the signing of Orlando Pirates talent Relebohile Mofokeng this summer, according to reports.

The 19-year-old has impressed for the Pirates in South Africa, making 35 appearances this season despite his young age, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

Reports in South Africa have revealled that several European clubs are eyeing a move for Relebohile Mofokeng, including Scottish giants Rangers, Red Bull Salzburg, and Wolverhampton, with the latter even inviting the player for a trial last year.

Entering the race for his signature is also Egyptian and African giants Al Ahly who are rumoured suitors for the player as they set to extend their dominance over the titles.

The Red Devils already have South African star Percy Tau in their ranks, having also had Phakamani Mahlambi for a short spell during the 2017/18 season.

Al Ahly are understood to be set to let go of Frenchman Anthony Modeste as well as Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng in the summer, which would allow the club to sign two new foreign players to their squad.

Relebohile Mofokeng is a complete play and can fit in any team that can lure him, however it will be good for him if he goes to Europe 🇪🇺 and join one of the premier league club… he has matured enough as a footballer and deserves to join English Premier League club. His future is very bright.

Al Ahly is an African powerhouse time but joining an African based club won’t be good for him.. he deserves to trade in England with the big boys.
